The Hutch – Sri Lanka Super Series in Motorbike and Motorcar racing was organised for the third time by the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR) in collaboration with the Asian Motor Racing Club (AMRC). The awards night for the championship is scheduled to be held on the 10th of December 2019, 7.00 pm onwards at the Eagle Lakeside Hotel in Attidiya.
The great performance showcased by racers and riders Foxhill Supercross held in Diyathalawe, Commando Challenge Supercross held in Kudaoya, Cavalry Supercross held in Kurunegala, Colombo Supercross held in Welisara and the Circuit Meets held in Meerigama and Katukurunda will be acknowledged and awarded prizes at the gala ceremony to be held on the 10th.
The highlight of the awards night would be the two top prizes for Best Motorcar Driver of the year and the Best Motorbike Rider of the year, where both champions will receive two brand new Honda Motorcycles. There will be other prizes awarded to five star-performers each for both categories of Motorcar Racing and Motorbike Racing.
The motorcar racer with the highest score in the SL/GT category 3500cc would be crowned as the Best Motorcar Racer and the motorbike rider with the highest score in the MX category 250cc will be crowned as the Best Motorbike Racer.
This years’ tournament had intense competition between Ashan Silva and Ushan Perera for the award of Best Motorcar Racer and between Jaques Gunawardena and Evon B. Gurusinghe for the award pf Best Motorbike Racer. However, with the conclusion of the final Colombo Supercross tournament, the champions will soon be announced.
Among the other Motorcar racing events entitled for awards are motorcar racing in the SLN Category Ford Laser/Mazda (1500cc), motorcar racing in the SLN Category Ford Laser/Mazda (1300cc), special motorcar racing in the SLS Category (1500cc), Honda Motorcar event in the category SLH (1600cc) and the Subaru Legacy motorcar event in the category SLH (2200cc).
The motorbike event in the category of MX (85cc) under 15 motocross event, motorbike event in the improved category (250cc) and the open motorbike event in the category SM Super Motard are among the motorcycle events that will be awarded prizes.
The chief guest of this years’ awards night would be the Defence Secretary Major General Kamal Gunarathne and Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva would grace the occasion as a special guest.
