The Mirigama Motorcycle Race happened on the 14th of July 2019.

The specialty of this event was that it was the first racing event to take place after the Easter attacks that took place on the 21st of April. It was jointly organised by  three clubs: Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR), Asian Motor Racing Club (AMRC) and Colombo Motor Sports. The event was powered by Hutch as the main sponsor.

A highlight of the Mirigama race was the decision to retire No. 15 in tribute to Champion Bike Rider Ananda Wedisinghe who passed away in 2017. Wedisinghe had an affinity towards the race tracks in Mirigama and has set a couple of records there as well. In this context, it was a fitting tribute to Wedisinghe by disallowing any racer to take No.15.

The event was a success with the championship being awarded to Pramuka Sesath. Jaden Gunawardene and Nadun Wijesekara were placed second and third respectively.

Further, Aaron Gunawardene experienced a fall amidst the race but did not sustain any grievous injuries.

The conclusion of the Mirigama Race happened with a generous and meritorious cause by the cash winnings being presented to the Mirigama Hospital in memory of Ananda Wedisinghe.
